World Children's Day
In Sri Lanka, Children's Day is celebrated on October 1. Children's Day is an event celebrated on various days in many places around the world. International Children's Day is celebrated on June 1 and Universal Children's Day is on November 20. The International Children's Day had its origin in Turkey in 1920 and later in the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925.
Therefore Ankumbura Central Collage was organized a programme to celebrate it. So our chief guest was president of children’s security department Mr.Thilak Kithsiri. The people’s bank organized a fair. As school children were held a fair. School teachers, parents and many people bought foods, vegetables, and fruits from this fair.
Also school children deposited money in their Sisu Udana accounts. So people’s bank presented many gifts to children. Maheesha Walisinghe won the bicycle as the first prize. Ankumbura central collage celebrated children’s day 2013 with these activities.
